A short route (less than 6 kilometres) perfect for families, starts at the Institut d’Aran in Betrén. The trail crosses the river and continues to the bridge at Escunhau. From there, you head to the church, and when you reach the Tuca track, follow the path to the right, leading back towards Betrén. This easy route takes under 2 hours, offering a peaceful way to enjoy nature and tranquillity.

Now let’s talk about a moderately difficult route, for those who are used to hiking. It takes more than 3 hours to cover 11.14 kilometres, with a positive elevation gain of 390 metres. The route is well-marked and takes you through Escanhau, Garòs, Arties, and Gessa.

How to get to Betrén, in Vielha?

You can drive via the motorway until just after Huesca, where you’ll need to take the N-230, or near Jaca, where you’ll follow the N-260 and then the N-230. The journey takes almost 7 hours from Madrid and around 4 hours from Barcelona. There are also several bus routes from Catalonia and one from Lleida, making that another option if you prefer not to drive to the Catalan Pyrenees.
