Where is Gessa and how to get there?
Gessa is a small, picturesque village located in Valle de Arán, in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, in the heart of the Pyrenees mountain range. At an altitude of approximately 1,250 metres above sea level, Gessa is surrounded by mountains and valleys that offer a natural environment of great beauty, characteristic of this Pyrenean region.
The most common way to reach Gessa is by car. From Lleida, take the N-230 road towards Vielha, the capital of the Val d’Aran. From Vielha, take the C-28 road to Baqueira. Gessa is about 15 kilometres from Vielha, just after passing through Salardú, so the journey is simple and direct.
Despite its small size, Gessa offers privileged access to numerous outdoor activities. During the winter, its proximity to the ski resort of Baqueira-Beret makes it an excellent base for skiers. In summer, the area is ideal for hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities, enjoying the mountain scenery and the local flora and fauna.
