Most of the routes that lead to this summit start precisely there, in this  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totiaranalquilerbaqueira.com\/blog\/valle-de-aran-pueblos\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mountain village<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which has fewer than 100 inhabitants and traditional Aranese houses. The rural and grazing roads in the area almost always passed through the Santet de Casau, and an annual pilgrimage takes place here on July 2, whose final destination is the chapel of Eth Santet. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the area, it is possible to hear stories and legends related to these roads and the Santet de Casau. The best known tells the story of a group of thieves and a priest who stole cattle and were punished by God: the earth opened at their feet and water arose that took them to the bottom of a lake. From Casau, you must look for an intersection located before the center of the town, with a dirt road that marks the beginning of the forest track that will take you to the Santet de Casau. You can choose to make the journey in an all-terrain vehicle, which is recommended on rainy days, or do it on foot or by mountain bike. It is an ascent of about 15 kilometers, round trip, and more than 1,000 meters of positive elevation gain; therefore, it is not a simple walk and is not easy for people without good physical fitness.
